Many people will use the standard size cuff. It’s important, though, to determine the correct cuff size for the most accurate blood pressure measurement. To do so, use a cloth tape measure and place it on your upper arm (between your elbow and your shoulder). Evenly wrap the tape around the circumference of your upper arm. The tape should be secure—not too loose, but not too tight. Choose the cuff size based on your measurement: Extra Small (5.9-9.4 in., 15-24 cm), Standard Wide (8.75-16.5 in., 22-42 cm), or Extra Large (15.7-21.2 in., 40-54 cm).
